Lady Syren is a powerful spoken word artist, author, keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, advocate, instructor, and host whose work bridges the worlds of art, education, and healing. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she brings both fire and finesse to every stage, offering performances that are as emotionally raw as they are empowering.

With a degree in Human Services and a lifelong passion for writing, Lady Syren blends her academic background with personal stories of survival and resilience to craft deeply impactful spoken word experiences. Her voice has been featured on nationally recognized platforms including Voices In Power, Sofar Sounds, the Uhuru Book Fair, and the ODUNDE Festival, the largest African American street festival in the U.S.

She has headlined events in cities across the country—from Philadelphia to Denver—and shared the stage with top artists, including opening for Maui the Writer at City Winery. Her debut book, Crowned in Melanin, is an unapologetic love letter to Blackness and womanhood—a collection of poetry, affirmations, and quotes that continues to resonate with readers across the nation.

Lady Syren is passionate about using poetry not just as performance, but as a practice for community building, self-expression, and liberation. Whether leading a workshop, delivering a keynote, or hosting an event, she shows up with intention, heart, and a voice that commands the room.
